| Table Charge |
A fee paid for playing poker, paid by all players at a table. |
|
|
| Table Stakes |
A standard rule in poker games whereby the betting and raising is limited to the amount of money a player has in front of him on the table on any given hand. Players cannot reach into their pockets to add to their bets. If a player runs out of chips in the middle of a hand they are considered all-in. |

| Take Out |
The number of chips a player starts with in table stakes. |
|
|
| Take the Lead |
To make a bet or raise. |
|
|
| Talon |
The remainder of the deck after the deal. |
|
|
| Tap |
In a no limit game, to wager all of your money in one bet. |
|
|
| Tap City |
A player having gone broke in a game. |
|
|
| Tap Out |
A player having bet and lost all his money, forcing the player to leave the game. |
|
|
| Tapped |
Out of money. |
|
|
| Technical Position |
The strategic and psychological advantage of a player relative to the other players. |
|
|
| Tell |
A players characteristics, mannerisms or unconscious gestures that he unknowingly gives about the quality of his hand or his intentions. |

|
| Ten Ten |
High-low five-card stud with ten for low and a pair of tens for high as qualifiers. Usually played with two twists. |
|
|
| Tennessee |
Draw poker in which a bet is made after each round of cards is dealt. |
|
|
| Texas Hold'em |
A Hold'em game where players receive two hole cards together with 5 board cards, to make their hands. See Hold'em. |

| Third Street |
In stud, the third card dealt to each player. |
|
|
| Thirty Days |
Three tens. |

A hand with three cards of the same rank. |

| Three Wise Men |
A hand that contains three kings. |

| Throw Off |
To discard. |

|
| Throw Up a Hand |
To fold. |
|
|
| Ticket |
A card. |
|
|
| Tie |
Two hands of equal value. The pot is usually divided between tied winning hands. |
|
|
| Tierce |
A straight flush of three cards. |
|
|
| Tight |
1. A conservative player who does not play many hands. The opposite of loose.
2. Full House |
|
|
| Tight Player |
A player who seldom bets unless he has a strong hand. |
|
|
| Tilt |
A player who has let his emotions take over and is no longer playing rationally or is not playing his best, playing too many hands, trying wild bluffs, raising with bad hands etc.. Often a player is "on tilt" after loosing a big hand. |

|
| Time Cut |
Money charged each player on a time basis by a casino or poker club. |
|
|
| Time Game |
Poker game in which players are charged by the casino or poker club a specified amount each hour or half hour for playing privileges. |

|
| Toke |
A small tip given to the dealer by the winner of a pot. |
|
|
| Top |
To beat an opponent. |
|
|
| Top Pair |
In flop poker games, a pair with the highest card on the flop. |
|
|
| Tough Player |
A superior poker player. |
|
|
| Tournament |
A poker competition involving many tables where normally participants pay an entry fee and play with a fixed number or chips. Once the tournament has started additional players may not enter. Players are eliminated until only one winner remains. |

| Trepasso |
The starting hand of Ace and Jack. |
|
|
| Trey |
A three. |
|
|
| Tricon |
Three of a kind. |
|
|
| Trips |
Three of a kind. |
|
|
| Turn |
This is the fourth board or community card dealt in Hold'em. The card after the flop. |
|
|
| Turn Down |
To fold. |
|
|
| Twenty-Deck Poker |
A poker game played with twenty card, having all the cards lower than the tens removed. |
|
|
| Twin Beds |
A high-low game involving five cards in each hand and ten turned up on the table. |
|
|
| Twist |
A draw in stud or an extra draw in draw poker. |
|
|
| Two Pair |
A hand with two separate pairs or cards with the same rank. |
|
|
| Two-Card Poker |
Any poker game in which the best two cards win. |
|
|
| Two-Way Hand |
A hand having possibilities of winning both high and low halves of a split-pot game. |
