| Odds |
The chances of getting various cards or hands. |

|
| Offensive Bet |
A bet placed with the intention of building the pot. |

| Office Hours |
A straight from a four to an eight or a five to a nine. |
|
|
| Off suit |
In hold'em poker, a starting hand with two cards of different suits. Hands that begin off suit cards are weaker than hands with cards of the same suit. |

| Oldsmobile |
The starting hand of nine and eight. |
|
|
| Omaha |
A type of Hold'em poker where each player receives 4 hole cards and must use exactly two of them (together with 3 of 5 board cards) to make a hand. Often played high-low split with an 8 qualifier for low. |

|
| On the Come |
A situation where the player bets before having a good hand but hopes to make one if the right cards come up. |
|
|
| On Tilt |
Playing wildly, usually as a reaction to losing badly or winning big. |
|
|
| One-Eye Jacks |
The jack of hears and jack of spades played as wild cards. |
|
|
| Open |
The first bet of the first round. |
|
|
| Open at Both Ends or Open End |
A four card sequence that can be made a straight by cards at either end of the sequence. |

| Open Blind |
A forced opening bet made by a player without looking at the cards first. |
|
|
| Open Cards |
Up cards in stud poker |

|
| Open Game |
A poker game in which anyone can play. |

| Open Pair |
An exposed pair in stud poker. |
|
|
| Open Poker |
Another name for stud poker. |

| Open Seat |
A chair available for another player. |
|

| Open Ended Straight |
A four card sequence that can be made a straight by cards at either end of the sequence. |

| Opener |
The player who starts the betting. |

|
| Open Handed |
A category of games characterized by a part of each player's hand being exposed. |

| Option Card |
A card that may be either kept or exchanged. |
|
|
| Original Hand |
The cards dealt to a player before the draw. |
|
|
| Out |
1. A card or cards that will improve or make your hand win. A hand with many Outs is preferable to a hand with only 1 or 2.
2. A player may state "I'm out" as a synonym of "I fold". |

|
| Over |
The term used in describing two pairs or a full house in a hand. For example "Queens over eights" means two pair of queens and eights. |

|
| Over bet the Pot |
In a no limit game, to place a bet that is larger than the size of the pot. |
|
|
| Overcall |
To call a bet after one of more players have already called. |
|
|
| Overcard |
A card dealt to the player that is higher than any of the board cards. |
|
|
| Overhand Shuffle |
Shuffle made by sliding cards from the top of the deck into the other hand. |
|
|
| Overhand Stack |
A cheaters technique for stacking cards using an overhand shuffle. |

| Overpair |
A pair in the players hand that is higher than any cards on the board. |
