| Lady |

| Late Position |
The player who does not have to act in a round until most of the other players have already had their turn to act. |

| Lay Down |
Revealing of the hands after the last round of betting. |

|
| Lead |
To make the first bet, even when there is the option to check. |
|
|
| Leak |
To unknowingly show your hole cards. |
|
|
| Lid |
The top card of the deck. |
|
|
| Limit |
The maximum bet or raise allowed. |
|
|
| Limit Poker |
A poker game with fixed bet amounts or limited within a variable maximum and minimum amount. |

|
| Limit Stakes |
Poker with maximum bets and raises as established by the house rules. |
|
|
| Limp In |
A player who does not bet or raise but only calls the big blind. |
|
|
| Limp Raise |
To make a small raise preflop. This is usually done when you have a strong hand. |

|
| Little Blind |
In poker games that use big and small blinds, the first and smallest blind bet. |

|
| Little Bobtail |
A three card straight flush. |

| Live Blind |
A blind bet placed by one or more players before any cards are dealt with the option to raise when the action is back to them. |

| Live Card |
A card that has not been dealt or seen. |

|
| Live game |
A game with lots of betting action. |
|
|
| Live Hand |
A hand that has a good chance of improving. |
|

| Live One |
A poor player with a lot of money who plays almost all of their hands and often lose. |

| Lock |
A hand that cannot lose. |

|
| Longhand |
A poker game with seven or more people. |

| Look |
To call. |

| Loose |
A player who plays a lot of hands. |

| Low Hole |
A stud poker game in where the one's lowest hole card and all matching cards are wild. |

| Low Poker |
A poker game in which the lowest hand wins. |

| Lowball |
Term for a poker game where the lowest hand wins. |

| Luck out |
To beat a good hand. |
