| Face Card |
A picture card, king, queen or jack. |

The order in which the cards are dealt. |

| False Cut |
A cheater's cut in with the stacked portion of the deck remains intact on top of the deck. |

| False Shuffle |
A cheater's shuffle used to stack cards or to leave stacked cards undisturbed after shuffling. Also called Blind Shuffle. |

| Family Pot |
A pot in which all players call the bet before the flop. |

| Fast |
Aggressive. |

| Fast company |

| Fifth Street |
The fifth card dealt. In hold'em poker also called the River. |

| Fill |
To draw a card that makes or finishes a five card hand. |

| Finger Poker |
A game played on credit. |
|
|
| Fire |
To make the first bet in a betting round. Emphasizes that the player bet when a check was possible, showing strength. |

| First Hand |
The first player allowed to bet in a hand. |
|

| Fish |
A bad player who often loses a lot of money. |
|
|
| Fish Hook |
A seven or jack. |
|
|
| Five and Dime |
A hand containing a five and ten with three unpaired cards. |

| Five of a Kind |
A poker hand consisting of five cards of the same rank. This is only possible when playing with wild cards. |

|
| Five-Card Stud |
Stud poker played with one hole card and four exposed cards. |

| Fix |

| Fixed Limit |
1. Betting structure in Limit Poker in which the amount of the bet in each round is pre-set.
2. Betting with agreed upon limits or maximums. |

| Flash |
An exposed or partially exposed concealed card. |
|
|
| Flat Limit |
A game in which only one consistent, fixed amount is allowed for all bets and raises. |

| Flat Poker |
Poker with a blind open. |
|
|
| Floorman, floor person |
A casino employee who seats players and arbitrates disputes when unusual events happen. |

|
| Flop |
The first three exposed board or community card, placed face up, in Hold'em and Omaha poker. |

|
| Flop Game |
Poker games where a flop is dealt. |
| |
|
| Flush |
Poker hand consisting of five cards of the same suit. |

|
| Foiling the Cut |
A cheaters method of returning cards to their original position after a cut. |

|
| Fold |
To decline to call a bet and drop out of a hand and give up all interest in a pot. You should fold when you think you will lose the hand. |

| Football |
A stud poker game involving sixes and threes as wild cards. |
|
|
| Forced Bet |
A required wager to start the action on the first betting round, as in stud poker games. Similar to blinds and antes. |

| Force-in |
A mandatory blind bet, usually with an option to raise. |

|
| Foul Hand |
A hand containing the wrong number of cards or a hand which may not be played. |

| Four Flush |
Four cards of the same suit. |

| Four Forty Four |
Eight card stud with fours wild. |

| Four of a Kind |
A hand containing four cards of the same value. |

| Fourth Street |
The fourth community card dealt in a hand of hold'em poker, also called the Turn. In stud poker, the fourth card dealt to each player. |

| Fox |
An expert player. |

|
| Freak |
A joker or wild card. |
|
|
| Free Card |
A free card refers to seeing the turn or river card without having to make/call a bet. |
|
|
| Free Ride |
Playing without having to pay. |

|
| Free Roll |
1. A poker tournament that does not have an entrance fee. Typically these types of tournaments are used as a promotion by a casino to attract customers and will put up a sum of prize money. Often players will earn a spot in a free roll tournament through credits from previous play at the poker room.
2. Free roll also refers to the situation where two players hands are tied with each other. However, one player has a better chance of winning the pot because they have a flush to break the tie. That player is said to have a free roll. |

| Free Wheeler |
A player who is bankrupt but is allowed to continue to play for free until he wins a pot. |

| Friend |
A card that improves your hand. |

| Full Boat |
Another word for Full House. Also called a Boat. |

| Full Buy |
To buy into a poker game at least the minimum amount of money to join a particular game. |

| Full House |
A hand that contains a three of a kind and a pair. Eg JJJQQ |
