Sic Bo, meaning "Dice Pair" is an ancient Chinese gambling game. The game consists of three dice and a table which displays the possible dice combinations along with the payoff odds.
The player's objective in this game is to choose the individual numbers or combinations of numbers that will appear on the dice after the throw.
Bets are made by selecting one or more of the possible outcomes displayed on the table. Once the bets are placed, the dice tumbler is rotated and lays the dice on the table. All winning possibilities of the three dice are shown illuminated on the table layout.
Winning payoffs range from 1:1 even money for one-of-a-kind, to 180:1 for a specific trio.
House advantage ranges from 2.8% - 47%.
Located at the bottom of the Sic Bo table is a row divided into six betting areas called single number bets. In this row, the player is betting on the numbers which he predicts will show after the dices are rolled. If one of the three dices shows the number the player bet on, the player wins 1:1. If two numbers show, the player wins 2:1 and if three shows the player wins3:1. For example, if a player placed a bet on the number two on the table and two of the three dice show a two, the player will receive double his stake back.
The two number combinations offer higher odds but are more difficult to obtain. The odds offered here are 6:1. This combination wager involves placing a bet on any two dice combinations. For example, a player places wagers on a one and a three. Preceding the roll, the dices show one, three and five, resulting in the player winning six times the wager. With a two number combination, it is only possible to win once, so if the result of the roll would have been one, three and three, the player would only get paid once.
In the three number total, the player bets on the combined result of the dice roll. A result of three and eighteen will always result in a loss for the player. Here is a list of different results and respective odds:
Four or Seventeen offer 50:1
Five or Sixteen offer 25:1
Six or Fifteen offer 15:1
Seven or Fourteen offer 10:1
Eight or Thirteen offer 6:1
Nine or Twelve offer 5:1
Ten or Eleven offer 5:1
For this wager, the player bets on whether the combined result of the roll will fall between Four and Ten (small wager) or between Eleven and Seventeen (big wager). The odds on this wager are always1:1. If the outcome of the dice roll is a triplet (i.e. 3 - Fours), both of the wagers lose
With this bet, the player bets on those triplets mentioned above. Naturally, the odds are the game's highest. They can reach as high as 150:1, depending on the casino's house rules. Betting on a single triplet will offer the player the highest odds in this game. The player can also bet on all six possible triplets at the same time (called any triplet). The player can also bet on a pair, which is two die of equal numbers. Here are the odds:
Triplet Bets offer 120-150:1
Any Triplet offers 25:1
Pair Bets offer 11:1
